Episode 35: Unforgiving Consequences

[this story begins in the Hero Garden, Chao is walking towards the fountain]
Chapter 1: The Fourth War?
[Chao takes a look at the fountain and sighs]
Chao: Oh, mystical fountain... when do you suppose we Heroes will ever get to rest in peace?
?: When you get rid of the problem, of course.
[Chao turns around and sees Mephiles (Shadow form)]
Chao: Mephiles?
Mp: I, um... "overheard" your little.... predicament, and realized what you were talking about.
Chao: What do you want? Spit it out.
Mp: I've noticed we have a common enemy.
Chao: The Beta Avengers?
Mp: They're not THAT bad-- I mean, no. I MEAN Shade and those other ANNOYING Dark chao.
[quick note: Pay VERY close attention to what Mephiles says, and you may notice something]
Chao: I'm listening.
Mp: I propose we team up, and rid ourselves of those accursed devils!
Chao: So, how do you trust to do this powerful and mighty task?
Mp: Well, I have formulated a very complicated plot; it requires a large army, and involves many missions.
[Chao looks his fellow Heroes]
Chao: Yeah, I think we can do this.
Mp: Good. GOOD.... muahahahahahahaha!
[fade out, fade in with a pan of the Dark Garden, Shade is playing CandI (cowboys and indians) with Uncle Shadow]
[note: From now on, Uncle Shadow will be the hedgehog, and Shadow will be the green chao]
Shade: Can't catch me!
Sh: Heh, yes I can!
[Shadow catches Shade, they both laugh]
Sh: You're getting faster, Shade.
Shade: Thanks. I try.
Sh: Oh, would you look at the time? I gotta go save Sonic from Amy.... AGAIN. Bye, guys!
[the Darks wave good-bye to Shadow]
Dark: Hey Shade, you wanna go spy on what Amy does to Sonic?
Shade: Sure, but from how fast Uncle Shadow's going, we'd better go quick!
Chao: Not so fast, Shade!
Shade: No, y'see, we GOTTA go fast because Uncle Sha--wait.. what are you doing in here?
[Chao slowly walks towards Shade]
Chao: What am I doing here? Earning my tranquility.
[Chao grabs Shade and shoves him into the red pool]
Shade: Aw... *spit* right in my mouth and in my nose and, ugh... *spit* ...guys, get him!
[the Darks grab Chao, Shade gets up and dashes to Chao]
Shade: So, what was this about 'tranquility'?
Chao: I've realized, Shade, all of my problems in life were caused by you DORKS.
[Chao continues his monologue as Shade listens with fear, anger, and curiosity, but mostly the former and latter]
Chao: The Chao Wars, Mephiles hating us, ZIM almost taking control of the gardens, Dark Garden- if you hadn't caused so much trouble, Sonic probably wouldn't have signed us up for CPAK!
Shade: You're blaming ME for all this!? What's gotten over you, Chao?
Chao: You wanna know what's gotten over me, Shade? COMMON SENSE. THAT'S what's gotten over me.
[Shade starts trembling with anger]
Chao: You know what? I don't even think you're good enough for your army.
Shade: Say WHAT!? You think my men are TOO GOOD for me!?
Chao: I don't think, I KNOW. Dark army, who's the one who sent you away to oblivion and beyond? Tell me.
All: (sadly) Shade...
Chao: Who's the one who sent you to Black Mesa, and Metal Sonic after you, while he rested peacefully?
All: (getting angrier each time) Shade.
Chao: Who's the one who LAUGHED at your futile attempts to get through training?
All: Shade-- wait... some kind of Shade fake.
Chao: Still, that's something Shade WOULD do, isn't it?
All: YEAH!
DH: I can't believe I trusted him... he got me eaten by Perfect Chaos!
Ph: He left me there in Chao Talk, and went to Dark-Hawk first!
SB: He won't talk to me much!
Dark: Don't get me started on what he's done to ME.
[the others come up with things Shade has done]
Chao: See, Shade? Your actions have done enough. Now, I believe it's time you suffered and took the fall for once.
[Shade shed a tear]
Chao: It's justice, Shade. Justice. And common sense. Goodbye, Shade. May you never cause trouble again.
[Chao turns around and leads the Dark chao out]
[Shade falls onto the ground and starts to cry]
Shade: ...Guys... my men... my army... my...minions...
[Shade starts sobbing]
Shade: CHAO!!!!
[a few seconds later, Shade stops sobbing (still crying)]
[close-up on Shade's face]
Shade: ...I will make sure that little runt pays...
[Shade sighs]
Shade: HE...WILL....PAY!
Chapter 2: Suspicious, Much?
[cut to the Hero Garden, at the fountain, Chao talks to Mephiles]
Chao: I did it, Mephiles! Your plan worked!
Mp: I bet it did. How'd he take it?
Chao: He was crying when I left. So, what do we do with the others?
Mp: You leave THEM.... to me...
[Mephiles starts laughing evilly, Chao sighs]
Mp: What's wrong?
Chao: I... I don't know. I thought finally defeating my longtime rival would make me feel good.
[camera zoom-in on Chao]
Chao: But... I feel... sorry for him. Maybe we should cancel all this?
Mp: NO! You can't! I, uh... I mean, it may not feel good NOW, but trust me, it will.
Chao: *sigh* ...okay. I'll trust you.
[Speedy runs to Chao]
Speedy: Chao! Shade's at the front gate!
Chao: What? Mephiles, what do I do!?
Mp: I'll take care of him. If I don't scare him off for good, you'll have to use your Heroes to fight him off. Build some security stuff!
[Mephiles melts into the ground (hinthint) and travels to Shade]
Shade: *deep breath* "Chao, I realize that what I did was wrong..." no, no, I want him to feel BAD, not even better!
Mp: Hey.
Shade: !!!
[Mephiles rises from the ground, Shade turns around]
Mp: What are you doing?
Shade: Why do you sound so calm? Normally, you hate me.
[close-up on Shade's face]
Shade: (suspiciously) What is this...?
Mp: Nothing. Well, okay, it IS something. Chao is right, you know. Back off, NOW!
Shade: Wait, how do YOU know about what happened back there? Unless... ah-ha, I get it now! YOU'RE behind all this!
Mp: Okay, you caught me. I'M behind all this. That's why I'm telling you to BACK OFF BEFORE I MAKE YOU BACK OFF.
Shade: Forget it, I'm going.
[Shade walks in, and is instantly shot at (but not hit) by Dark-Hawk]
Shade: WTF (he says what it means, I'm censoring it), MAN! I thought you were my friend...
DH: Times have changed.
[Dark-Hawk resumes shooting, Shade dodges]
Shade: I can't believe it, Dee-Ayche. I'm... I don't know what to say.
[Shade gently walks past him, leaving Dark-Hawk to think hard about what he did]
[suddenly, the ground in front of Shade blows up-- it's Phantom]
Shade: HOLY--
[BOOM]
Ph: Shade, you back-stabbing *******! Next step you make; that'll be your head!
Shade: Phantom... you of all Dark chao? I was expecting BETTER from you, grunt. I am VERY disappointed, soldier.
[Shade gently walks past, and Phantom thinks]
[quickly, fire spreads in front of him-- S.Bonic is seen in the middle using his Chaos chao powers]
SB: Hello, Shade. Seen your... DEATH lately?
Shade: Oh, you bloody little--
[S.Bonic creates more fire as Shade jumps high into the air]
SB: BURN, SHADE! BURRRRRN!
[S.Bonic laughs maniacally but stops as he hears Shade behind him, walking casually]
Shade: A CHAOS CHAO? In MY army? Teaming up with Chao? Tsk, tsk, tsk.
[S.Bonic thinks about what he has done]
Shade: Ah, I see Chao ahead! Time to give him a piece of my mind!
DH: Wait.
[Shade turns around and sees his whole Dark army there]
Shade: Aw, jeez-- I escaped and now you wanna get me for once and for all? I should've seen this coming.
Ph: No. We... we're sorry. We don't know what came over us.
DH: There was something about Chao... something DIFFERENT. Something PURE EVIL, that caught us.
Shade: I agree, there IS something different about Chao, but... pure evil? Not even HE can be like that.
[Shade turns at looks at Chao]
Shade: Still... can't hurt to talk to him, can it?
[the chao walk to Chao, but Mephiles rises from the ground]
Chapter 3: Grand Plan Status- INITIATED
Mp: SHADE! Sneaky rascal. How did you manage to get past Chao's forces so quickly?
Shade: Chao's forces? They WERE mine. I taught them EVERYTHING they know. Well, MOST of it. I think I can handle a little firepower.
Mp: I see... Shade, do you remember something I once said to you?
Shade: "--A PROPOSITION, fool"?
Mp: No... that's what the moron said. I... well, I once said to you...
[Chao is listening at this point]
Mp: "You fools! I am back... from the grave!"
[Chao runs to the group]
Chao: Oh, no... what a fool I've been!
Mp: Yes... what FOOLS you mortals be!
Dark: HEY! I happen to like that line!
Chao: I can't believe it... guys, run; I'll take care of this.
Mp: I'm afraid I cannot allow that, Chao... for you all have heard too much.
[storm clouds arrive in the skies, and lightning strikes a lot]
Shade: Chao... what's going on!?
Quartz: I'm getting ready to run as fast as I can towards the exit...
Mp: Nice try.
[Mephiles points at the ground behind the group, lightning strikes it, it falls, leaving them all in a big, floating arena]
Mp: Try leaving NOW! MUAHAHAHAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!!
SB: Who... who ARE you!?
Mp: I am the lord of chao, the superior to that inferior Metal Sonic, all those who hear my name tremble in fear at my almighty lightning powers of utter chaos and murder!
[the chao start to worry greatly]
Mp: I... AM.... METAL SPEEDY!!
[lightning strikes behind him (dramatic effect)]
[Mephiles melts into the ground and rises back up as a robot version of Speedy]
MSp: And I am a Beta Avenger, in case you BOZOS forgot! In fact, I do believe I'm not the only one... that you haven't met.
Shade: KUH-RAAAAAP! Please don't mention--
MSp: Who? The REST of the Daleks? The Rebel Army? The Donut man? Or is it the Doctor?
Shade: I was thinking more along the lines of the final monster.
MSp: Right, I completely forgot. Simply because I can barely remember the last two robots-- stop digressing!
Shade: What do you mean? What does 'digressing' mean?
MSp: It means "to drive off-topic in writing or"-- STOP THAT!
Shade: So, basically, you think I'm STALLING? ...like I did in Episode 19?
MSp: Yes.
Shade: Stalling?
MSp: Yes, that's what you're doing.
Shade: You think I'm...... stalling?
MSp: See, you're doing it right now-- DIE, DOLTS!
[Metal Speedy shoots lightning, they all dodge]
MSp: Curse your agileness... perhaps I should give u-- DIE!
[ZZZZZZZAP!]
Shade: QUARTZ! ...Well, it's not THAT bad.
Q: I hate you. *cough*
MSp: So, Shade... are you willing to listen to what I am saying?
Shade: Well, I was gonna do that anyway. You didn't have to hit Quartz.
MSp: I know, I just... like hitting him. ANYWAY...
Chao: Can you hurry this up?
MSp: All right, all right. Listen, Shade... have you noticed how, when fighting the clones, you sprouted Metal Sonic-like "fins"?
Shade: Yeah, I liked that.
MSp: And now you don't. You notice that?
Shade: Yes, actually.
MSp: This is all because of the Chaos Drives.
[Dark starts listening]
MSp: The Chaos Drives are mystical things, which even I'M not too sure of, but they have body-altering powers.
Dark: Hey, I know about those! Purflee and Elgee told me about them!
MSp: Ah, so you know. Good. Shall I end this discussion quickly?
Shade: Go ahead, we're all bored.
MSp: I WILL be back, Shade. And not two seasons from now, no, I will be back VERY, VERY SOON. And when I return, I will be a major plot device! Just you wait.
[Metal Speedy melts into the ground, the clouds disappear, everything returns to normal]
Chapter 4: The "Unforgiving" Part
Chao: *sigh* I... I'm sorry, Shade. I never meant to hurt you. I guess Metal Speedy played me for a fool. Please accept my apology...
Shade: Hell, no!
[Shade punches Chao hard in the face, and he falls onto the ground, then falls into the pool (a few inches away)]
[Shade and the Darks leave and head back to the Dark Garden]
Speedy: ...So... didja catch Smallville last night?
Knuckle: Tivo'd it.
